Can local government, police or other public bodies publish ATRS records?

Yes. ATRS is recommended across the public sector. Local government, police forces and other bodies can complete a template and email it directly to the ATRS team. The ethics framework also recommends publishing a record even where a tool is out of strict mandatory scope.

However, the ATRS is recommended by the Data Standards Authority for use across the entire public sector and we have welcomed ATRS records from local government, police forces and other broader public sector organisations. If you are from such an organisation, you can complete an ATRS template and email it to algorithmic-transparency@dsit.gov.uk directly.
